Green Pet Food

August 29, 2013

You've been serving organic food to the people in your family because you're aware of the health and environmental benefits, but how about your dog and cat? According to the Wholefoods website, the FDA regulations that govern organic food for people also apply to food for your pets.

Buying organic will most likely involve some changes for you. The brand you are accustomed to buying may not make organic alternatives and the store where you've purchased your pet food may not carry organic products. On the positive side, if you've been going to a different store to get your pet food, you may no longer have to since stores that sell organic may carry what you want.

Some brands you'll encounter for dogs are Castor and Pollux, Natura Karma, Pet Guard, Organix, and natural Balance. For cats you'll find Pet Guard and by Nature.
